We are Jim and Sue Randall of Elk Run Farm in Fort Defiance. We have been with the Staunton Market since it opened in 1993 and Verona Market since it opened in 2001.
While we are not certified organic, we never use chemical insecticides on our produce. It is so nice to be able to eat our produce as we gather it without fear of being poisoned. We offer a full array of vegetables, plants from our greenhouses (including herbs, perennials, bedding and vegetable plants). We also offer jams from our homegrown fruits, eggs, and goat meat from our herd of Boer meat goats. The meat is USDA inspected.
Goat meat is lower in cholesterol than chicken and is very lean. Because of the lack of fat, it must be cooked slowly. the taste is absolutely delicious. We also sell slaughter goats and breeding stock available from our farm.
